You can insert your eSIM.me card into any phone with a compatible SIM slot and continue using your active mobile connection.

However, if you want to manage your eSIM.me card on a new phone — for example, download, install, enable, disable, or delete eSIM profiles — your license determines whether this is possible.

This guide explains how device transfers work and when a transfer license is required.

Understanding Device Transfers

When we talk about moving your eSIM.me card to a new phone, there are two different scenarios:

1- Using Your Existing eSIM Profile

If an eSIM profile is already enabled on your eSIM.me card, you can simply move the card to another phone and use the mobile service.

No transfer license is required for this.

2- Managing Your eSIM.me Card

Managing the card means using the eSIM.me App to:

  • Download new eSIM profiles
  • Install eSIM profiles
  • Enable or disable eSIM profiles
  • Delete eSIM profiles
  • Change card settings

To perform these actions on a new device, your license must allow the new device to manage the card.

eSIM.me License Types

Single License

A Single License allows the eSIM.me card to be managed by one device only.

If you want to manage the card on a different phone, you must purchase a transfer license.

Multi License

A Multi License allows the eSIM.me card to be managed by multiple devices of the same brand.

For example:

  • Samsung → Samsung ✔
  • Google → Google ✔
  • Xiaomi → Xiaomi ✔

If you move to a different brand, a transfer license is required.

For example:

  • Samsung → Google ✖
  • Samsung → Xiaomi ✖
Omni License

An Omni License allows the eSIM.me card to be managed by multiple devices from different brands.

For example:

  • Samsung ✔
  • Google ✔
  • Xiaomi ✔
  • OnePlus ✔

No transfer license is required when changing between supported brands.

How to Transfer Your eSIM.me Card to a New Device

If your new device requires a transfer license, follow these steps:

Step 1: Remove the Card

Remove the eSIM.me card from your current phone.

Step 2: Insert the Card into the New Phone

Insert the eSIM.me card into the new device.

Step 3: Sign In

Install and open the eSIM.me App.

Sign in using the same eSIM.me account that you used on your previous device.

Step 4: Follow the Transfer Message

The app will automatically detect that a transfer is required.

A pop-up message will appear with a button to continue.

Tap the button.

You will be redirected to the eSIM.me webshop where you can purchase the required transfer license.

Step 5: Wait for the Transfer to Complete

After completing your purchase:

  1. Keep the phone connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. Wait approximately 10 minutes.
  3. Restart the device.

This allows the new license settings to be downloaded and applied to your eSIM.me card.

Step 6: Start Managing Your Card

Once the device restarts, you can manage your eSIM.me card from the new phone.

Important

To ensure that your transfer is processed correctly, always start the purchase from the transfer message shown inside the eSIM.me App.

Do not purchase a transfer license directly from the webshop without first following the in-app transfer process.

The app provides important information that is automatically attached to your order and helps ensure that the transfer is completed correctly.
